AlexStew is built around one principle: nutrition advice should be clear, practical and grounded in evidence.
How articles are researched
Articles use appropriate scientific literature, official guidance and, where relevant, current product labels. Different types of evidence are treated differently. A laboratory finding, observational study or biological mechanism is not presented as if it proves a clinical outcome.
Where evidence is limited, mixed or uncertain, we aim to say so plainly.
Human review and responsibility
AI tools may help organise research, analyse information or assist with drafting, but everything published on AlexStew is personally reviewed and approved by Alex Stewart ANutr, MSc Human Nutrition, BSc Sports Science.
Responsibility for the final wording, interpretation and recommendations remains with Alex.
Product comparisons and personal experience
We distinguish between published scientific evidence, label-based analysis and personal experience.
If Alex has personally used a product, that may be included to give useful context on things such as taste, convenience, mixability or everyday use. Personal experience is not treated as proof that a supplement or product produces a particular health effect.
When a comparison is based on labels, retailer information or manufacturer information rather than hands-on testing, we say so.
Affiliate links and commercial independence
Some articles contain affiliate links, which means AlexStew may earn a commission if a reader makes a qualifying purchase. Affiliate relationships do not determine the scientific conclusions or the evidence standard used in an article.
Where a purchase is unnecessary, the article should be able to say that clearly.
Updates and corrections
Nutrition evidence, guidance, product formulations and prices can change. Articles may therefore be reviewed and updated when new evidence or materially different information becomes available.
If we identify a meaningful factual error, we aim to correct it rather than quietly preserving an inaccurate conclusion.
